Munnar at a glance
Munnar sits high in the Western Ghats of Kerala, surrounded by tea plantations, misty hills and viewpoints. The climate is cool throughout the year, and resorts on the estates offer quiet, scenic surroundings that stand in contrast to the busy cities most teams work in.
Why host a MICE event in Munnar
Munnar is best for Meetings and Incentives. Tea-estate resorts and hill retreats offer an intimate setting for leadership offsites and reward groups, with walks, plantation visits and local cuisine as the main activities. Because the area is remote, groups spend more time together, which suits team-building programmes. It is not designed for large conferences or exhibitions, so it works best for small to mid-sized groups.
Getting to Munnar
The nearest major airport is Kochi, and the journey on to Munnar is a few hours by road through winding hill roads. We arrange coaches suited to the terrain and plan breaks along the way. Because the drive is long, we suggest arriving early in the day or staying overnight near the airport on the way in.
Planning notes
September to March is the best period, with pleasant weather and clearer views. The monsoon is beautiful but brings heavy rain and the possibility of road disruption, so we plan flexibility into schedules. Mobile coverage can be patchy in places, which is part of the appeal but worth telling delegates in advance. Tell us your group size and we will match it to suitable resorts.
