Chennai at a glance
Chennai is the largest business centre on India’s south-east coast. It is known for automobile and component manufacturing, software and business services, healthcare and a busy port. The city has long-established trade-fair and convention facilities and a wide range of business hotels, with beach resorts along the coast to the south for groups that want a change of setting.
Why host a MICE event in Chennai
Chennai works best for Meetings, Conferences and Exhibitions. Industrial and trade exhibitions draw on the manufacturing base around the city, and corporate conferences benefit from reliable venues and experienced event vendors. For a lighter programme, coastal resorts within driving distance can host an offsite day or a closing dinner, and Puducherry is close enough to add as an extension.
Getting to Chennai
Chennai’s international airport has direct flights from all major Indian cities and from many destinations in Asia and the Gulf, and the city is a major rail terminus. Traffic is heavy at peak hours, so we keep hotels near the venue and plan coach movements outside rush periods.
Planning notes
November to February is the comfortable season. Chennai is hot and humid for much of the year, and the north-east monsoon brings heavy rain from roughly October to December, so we keep outdoor plans flexible and hold an indoor backup. Tell us whether you want a city venue, a coastal resort or both, and we will plan the transfers between them.
