Chandigarh at a glance
Chandigarh is the shared capital of Punjab and Haryana and one of the best-organised cities in the country, with wide roads, green sectors and short travel times. Together with its neighbouring towns it has grown into a business centre for technology, services and regional sales teams. It is also the gateway to the hill stations of Himachal Pradesh, which gives planners a useful mix of city and resort venues.
Why host a MICE event in Chandigarh
Chandigarh suits Meetings, Incentives and Conferences. Regional sales conferences and review meetings work well because teams from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Delhi can all reach it without a long journey. For incentive and leadership groups, resorts in the foothills are a short drive away and add fresh air and views to a working programme. Very large exhibitions are better placed in Delhi.
Getting to Chandigarh
Chandigarh has its own airport with flights from the major metros, and it is connected to Delhi by fast trains and a good highway. Because the city is compact, transfers between hotel and venue are short. For foothill resorts we plan coach timings around hill roads and daylight.
Planning notes
October to March is the pleasant window, with cool evenings that suit outdoor dinners. Winter mornings can bring fog that delays flights and trains, so we avoid tight connections on arrival and departure days. If you plan to add a hill resort, tell us the group’s comfort with road travel so we can pick the right distance.
